Windoz Install of 2..0.0 breaks
« on: May 18, 2005, 04:44:18 AM »

Hi

This is an informational post not a bitch ok

I have jus install aMule on my winXP Pro box.

It start for the first time and crash's if I delete the preferences under the user name,..eg: doc's settings ./amule

it will run again but if quite will not run till I go back an delete those preferences again..

I would ask here a dumb question does windows support ./amule or does it see the ./ as a swtich,..  dot's I believe are illegal file/folder name under windoz and the / is a switch eg dir /p on the commandline

to add I have found that it's not as I thought but the file amule.conf that it doesn't like, could that be the 4 letter extention?

Cheers
Kiwi-Hawk

PS the copy I have on my real OS (Linux) is great

I've always thought, that the folder is called ($home\).aMule ;)
Win shouldn't have problems with the 4 letters-extension, remember .html-Files
I don't have a win-pc running here, but I've heard of others that amule works fine on win
sorry that I couldn't help you better

Well...

In my work, I'm using aMule.

When I put on these folder a ipfilter.dat file, aMule crash on start.

Removing file, start Ok.

Try it.

(sorry... I'm better writing in Brazilian Portuguese...)
