it should be in your home dir, and the folder shoule be called
-->aMule downloads

its NOT hidden like it is under linux

Small correction to what stefanero said: it should be in your home -> Documents -> aMule Downloads.  This is the default for newer versions of aMule.  However, if you have an amule.conf that was initially configured by an older version, it will still be using ~/.aMule.

If you're looking for the .aMule directory, you should know that under Unix-based OSes, a name starting with a period makes a file or folder hidden.  It won't normally be visible in, for instance, the Finder.  However, if you select the Go -> Go to Folder menu item, you can type "~/.aMule" and the Finder will open that directory.

If you don't like this directory choice, you can change it in aMule's preference.  If you change it, aMule won't automatically move the files from the old location to the new one.  You'll have to do that yourself, if you like.

You're very welcome.  :)

Unfortunately, the Finder doesn't have a way to permanently unhide all hidden folders.  :(

unhide hidden files
« Reply #6 on: June 04, 2005, 10:31:06 PM »

it's possible to unhide hidden files indirectly by ONYX which can be downloaded from: http://www.titanium.free.fr
When you'll got it in tab named APPEARANCE just tick SHOW HIDDEN FILES
...and that's it.

Hmm, interesting, mieszko.  I didn't know that.  :)

You piqued my curiosity, so I searched around and found this Apple page which says you can achieve the same effect by typing
Code: [Select]
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles true in the Terminal and restarting the Finder.  This is probably what Onyx is actually doing behind the scenes.

i have to try this way, however is easier to let do this by others and don't care each time you need this, because ONYX is causing some problems with scroling window content and resizing column view when some particular optinos are active.http://forum.amule.org/images/lightless_future/icons/icon16.gif
