The easiest way would be to go to the server tab and hit the little blue arrow at the top left, right next to the field where there is an address of a server.met amule can download. If that address is missing use this one: http://www.srv1000.com/azz/server.met

Please do not post links to pages having ed2k link for copyrighted stuff. We don't encourage piracy in any way.

aMule can download from any file in the ed2k network, if the file says "Waiting", that's what you ahve to do :)

I see these lines in your log:

Quote
2005-08-10 06:52:05: 145 servers in server.met found
[...]
2005-08-10 06:52:06: No valid servers to connect in serverlist found

That suggests to me that you have the preference setting "Autoconnect to servers in static list only" enabled.  This is in the Server preference page.  You should disable this.  Then, when you click the Connect toolbar button, it should work.

For general information about using aMule (not directly related to your current problem), you should read the Getting Started wiki page.  :)

It seems that http://www.srv1000.com/azz/server.met is not filtered to eliminate fake servers.  We have changed aMule (in cvs) to use a different default URL, http://gruk.org/server.met.gz, which is.  Note: this server.met is gzipped.  The release version of aMule (2.0.3) does not support automatic ungzipping of downloaded files.  So, you will need to download this manually (using your web browser, for example), ungzip it, and move it into your ~/.aMule directory.

In the meantime, you can just type a different URL into that field and press enter to have aMule load from that URL.  However, I don't think aMule remembers the URL that you enter between restarts.

You don't really need to keep reloading a new server.met, anyway.  Once you load one, you should be fine for a long time.  You can either let aMule exchange servers with servers and clients that it connects to, or you can just keep the list as it was when you downloaded it.

Ignore the contents of the server.met URL field.  It is hard-coded to that value.  It is not intended to reflect the source of the current server list loaded by aMule.

Also, I notice that your profile lists your OS as Ubuntu 5.04.  Just so you know, this is the Mac OS X forum.  ;)

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the stuff at http://koti.mbnet.fi/ots/linux/hoary/.

yes infact you have reason but I'm a mod in a Forum, of course I suggest ever to continous a 3d if the subject is OK instead open a new topic.......anyway the program is the same and for the server.met I understand.

THANKS a lot kid......... 8)
