Webserver query
« on: September 10, 2005, 11:24:21 AM »

Hi folks
Please forgive me if this question has already been asked and answered, but I am afraid that I am such a technological nincompoop that I don't understand the vast majority of the info in the "How To" file

I've managed to get aMule up an running by downloading the aMule application (I was even quite proud of myself when I managed to suss out how to get the CVS version running, by using TinkerTool to show the hidden ".aMule" file from the older version and dumping it as prior to that the CVS version kept quitting at start-up - although I haven't really got the foggiest why CVS version might be better than aMule 2.0?)

I would however love to be able to get the webserver running, so that I might control aMule via my browser (Safari). I have adjusted the preferences to "Run aMule web on start-uo" but I cannot seen to connect to localhost:4711

Any assistance would be most appreciated but please bear in mind to keep any advice as simple as possible (as if you were talking to a six year old preferably :-), as I really haven't a clue when it comes using lines of code in the Terminal application and all the discussion of Xcode, Fink and WXWidgets is a complete msytery to me (basically why I became a Mac user in the first place because they are so much more idiot proof for the likes of myself)

With my utmost thanks in advance for any help or advice
Big Love to all for your hard work creating this wicked app
Bernard
