1. What does CVS stand for?

2. What is so special in aMule CVS?

3. Why cannot we find aMule CVS at (say) VersionTracker?

4. Does aMule CVS need the 2401 TCP port (on top of 4662)?

"cvs" means: "Concurrent Version System".

several developers can work on the same project at the same time, and u can get the most actual version.

it is the "bleeding edge", for testing, no "official" release.

what is the 2401 tcp port?
we USUALLY dont have this port

DEFAULT is 4662/tcp 4672/udp and 4665/udp

those are the default once, you can always change them in preferences...but NO other ports are needed...

Hi Stefanero,
The 2401 is automatically associated with CVS is the Shareware Firewall options (OSZ 10.4.2). I wondered if it is also needed. Following your answer, apparently not.

well definetly not, only the ports YOU setup or which are default settings in the amule-prefernces

Well, cvs is an app. Is the app we use to develop all guys on the same source, that's why "aMule CVS" meaning the latest changes we do. 2401 is the CVS port, but the APP port, not related to aMule, needed to use CVS.
