Let's celebrate the first birthday of *mule for Linux
« on: January 30, 2004, 11:59:26 AM »

Hi *mule devs, *mule beta-testers and *mule users!

Yesterday I was digging a bit in history, and I found out that we nearly forgot a birthday: :]

On January 28th, 2003 the lmule source code first hit sourceforge's cvs. I found some pre-versions on my system, the oldest dated January 25th, 2003.
So I'm proud to say I was an lmule beta-tester of the first hour. :)
furax- (I can't remember how I met him) introduced me to the lmule dev team --- well the team only consisted of Tiku coding lmule and furax- supporting him at that time --- and I became an official lmule dev on February 18th, 2003, starting with i18n of lmule.

I think it's time again to thank Tiku for starting this project.  :baby: :baby: :baby:
Without his efforts maybe there would still be no *mule for Linux.
I was watching a sourceforge project named linmule before, but they didn't come further than 10 commits on cvs and never released any files.
If anyone says "Thank you for this *mule!", you always can say: "Thank Tiku first."  :))

But I don't want to forget to thank all the other people that contributed to *mule, sometimes going though hard times, but still staying faithfully with the *mule project.

Sometimes I was busy in the past (and I think this will not change much in the future), so I could not contribute much to amule, but with every post on the amule cvs mailinglist I enjoy the continuation of the *mule project for Linux.

Greets to all my old (yes, that's you, Madcat) and new dev fellows,
your pure_ascii.

Happy, happy, happy b-day *mule.

I'm proud to be one of the oldest devs too! I just joined as lmule forked to xMule.

ok...i think to have been in the first 10 ppl to download and risk my own .part files to use lmule.

i remember that it used about 80% of my cpu with only 2 files.
i remember crashes after 1 hr.
i remember libs fight for QT choice
i remember when tiku fixed a GetTickCout function bug and cpu usage was reduced of 50%
i remember the first, sad split, when tiku applied a 60k patch to cvs and broke it.

i remember that i searched for him so much and i couldn't find.
a genius @ home

what a pity...

however amule has improved so much ad so happy for this!

happy b-day *mule.
