Your help is much appreciated and as far as I can tell (I can read a bit of Dutch, but have never learned it) the translation is well-done, too. Thank you, committed. :)

The translation seems to be good, although I noticed a few glitches (like missing dots at the end of a string). A bigger problem, however, is that you used the informal translation of "you", while I used the formal translation (which one is preferred btw? I saw that the German translation uses the informal translation, while the French translation uses the formal one).

Well, that's actually a difficult question. I try to avoid direct questions and use a passive instead, if possible. (For instance: Do you really want to close aMule? -> Should aMule really be closed?)

I think the formal form is used more in France than it is used in Germany and I don't believe anyone would feel offended if a program addressed this person using the informal form in German.
Thus, it is ok to use the informal form (I think for Dutch, too), but only if the complete translation uses the informal form. Because you started the translation with the formal form already, I suggest sticking to the formal translation.

Fair enough. To keep the formality consequent, I changed all 'je' to 'u'. Also added some dots where missing.
On a side note, I try to avoid passive sentences as they tend to affect readability.

Dankuwel (dank u wel?) !

I'm used to academic language and I teach German for fun (I wanted to study languages, but decided against it.) - passive forms can't shock me anymore. ;)

No, seriously: As translator, one should actually translate as close to the original as possible. But I value understandability higher than closeness to the original and change the translation a bit or add some words to avoid ambiguous meanings, provided that the content doesn't change.

The board referred to in the news (http://forum.amule.org/index.php?board=78.0) doesn't seem to exist (An Error Has Occurred!
The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.)

So, I have attached the updated Dutch translation of 2.2.2rc1 here.

And just to make our developers happier, a random tidbit of poetry (By de la Barca, the only Spanish author I can freely quote...):

What is life? A fury.
What is life? An illusion,
a shadow, a fiction.
And the greatest good is small:
That the whole life is a dream.
And dreams dreams are.

Another update, fixed a typo and made the translations more consistent.
