aMule having a nervous breakdown?
« on: May 24, 2008, 04:17:35 PM »

aMule was running great for about a year.  Recently I noticed that it started to have problems, now I got a low id, Uploads are very low, (0.8, and a yellow arrow), is not downloading (0.0, and a red arrow),  will not search,( goes through the motions but comes up with nothing), and I see KAD is disconnected.

How do I reconnect KAD and get up and running again.   I've checked all my ports and they re all on,  I'm running aMule CVS rev. 6921.

Thanks for all.

It turns out it was a Netgear 8 port Switch that was causing all the problems.  Discovered it by accident when I put an old Farallon hub in its place and everything cleared up.  Has worked great now for a month.

Thanks for the quick replies .

My version (6921) is from 2006 or so it seems.  I've tried to locate the 8536 version to no avail.  I've downloaded what says to be the latest version but it opens as my old 6921.

Before I installed the download in Applications,  I trashed the original application from the Applications Folder.  I'll keep looking, but a little help is much appreciated.  Thanks once again.

I downloaded and installed 2.2.1  Thanks, it's up and running but I still get the
Kademlia Status:    Running
Status:                       Disconnected

message under Kad info.  I presume this is why I get  a low id    I've checked my network configurations several times and reset them on my router.  I don't have a firewall.

Any ideas?  hanks for the help.  I really appreciate it.

I'm behind a Linksys Phone adaptor Router which I have forwarded the ports and made sure Server IP Addresses were set to match my computer ( in Network under System preferences).  My ISP is RoadRunner and they say that they are not blocking anything with their modem.  I have nothing else in between.  I have set my internal firewall to allow Amule and entered the ports in the appropriate boxes..

Earlier this week it told me that eD2k is disconnected as well, and that Kademlia is not running.  So I'm getting real low speeds if any downloads at all.  The last couple days I can only get 8 servers at most.

Tried a port test and these are the results:

Error: TCP port 4662 is unavailable. Make sure your firewall or router is allowing/forwarding this TCP service port and your ED2K client is running (i.e. aMule, eMule).
Detailed Error Message
TCP Error 110 Connection refused

Explanation
The connection timed out, meaning the port is being blocked or incorrectly forwarded by a firewall or your computer is turned off :)

Was running aMule on my computer,   Checked my firewall and my router port configurations.  Again

Thanks for the help .
