Hi,

Finally I've finished the translation of new strings and the revision of all the old ones. I hope to be helped by catalan users to find and correct any mistakes or errors in the translation (Please post! :P ).

I found some problems on certain strings (lines 206, 3705, and 6497) which are used in the app more than one time and have different translation in each case (although in english those strings can be used for those different meanings 'cause the spelling is the same). Should I post this type of 'problems' as bugs? or can this be discussed here?

Also, please, can someone with the proper rights change the title of this thread to something like "Catalan translation"? I guess "tratuction" is a bit embarrassing :P

Ok, right now, ready to submit! hooray! ;)

Edit: Your wish is my command. ;)

Hi, I've just installed 2.1.2 but the changes made on the last catalan translation (submited 04-06-2006) are not shown... stefanero, did you update it? or you're still using old po files on this branch?

edit: typo

I did not apply it to 2.1.2...since cvs strings are different from the other branch...so updates are in cvs-snapshots but not in minor-release

Hi, I'm updating the Catalan translation right now. I've noticed some one else already has updated it with erroneous translations. I'll try to go over it the quickest ...   is there any eta for  the 2.2.0 release? Thanks.

Unfortunately no, it will be released once we've fixed the last show-stopper bugs - which might be in a week or 2 months (or soon).

I'm mad about this translation. The po file is all messed up, it looks like someone with very low catalan skills had tried to traslate the missing strings (maybe from spanish??). I must review all the strings.....  >:(
Ok, I'm attaching a new updated file, but it's a work in progress, be aware it's not finished at all. I'm very scaried about an eventual 2.2 release with this f*cking messed file that's now in cvs, that would be a disaster....

The last translator said the translation was not perfect and maybe they write things different in the region of Valencia (I believe the pronounciation is a bit different.), so I should have known that there might have been errors inside.

Unfortunately I know only a little Català by living in Barcelona for a while and reading and watching news, so I can't recognize any but the worst errors. I'm sorry for the state of the translation.

Edit: Oh, I've updated the translation and I'm afraid the release will be even further delayed...although we're getting closer to actually solving the last showstopper bugs.

Thanks for the info, wuischke. I'm Valencian, no problem with that. However, an update of a language file shouldn't jump into cvs without the acknowledgment of the "Last-Translator" of the po file, or at least making a 'ping' here in the translation forum. How did he send that update? via e-mail? ... o_ô

I've finished the first review of the file. Suggestions are welcome...

Regards, goodnight
